Danish Sociological Conference 2014

The Danish Sociological Conference is held at the University of Copenhagen in January 2014. The overall theme of the conference is Social stratification and inequality – changing social dynamics in the 21st century.

Inequality has increased in most Western societies the last ten to fifteen years and major changes have been seen in the social structure. The conference focuses on different aspects of stratification and differentiation developments in the last twenty years: How can sociology contribute to the understanding of the changes in the social structure in modern societies and to the increasing inequality? Are traditional sociological concepts like class, individualization, mobility etc. adequate conceptualizations when we try to understand the changes in the social stratification?

Researchers from FAOS will present their work at the conference.
